Honey Walnut Shrimp

Everyone’s takeout inspired fave recipe!

INGREDIENTS

1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup cornstarch

Vegetable oil for frying

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon honey

3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk

1/2 teaspoon rice vinegar

Cooked white rice, for serving

Thinly sliced green onions, for garnish

Walnuts

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

METHOD

Pat your shrimp dry with paper towels and sprinkle a little salt and pepper on them.

Dip each shrimp into the beaten eggs, making sure they're coated all over, and then let them take a dip in the cornstarch. This double-coating technique will give them that satisfying crunch we all crave.

Heat up some vegetable oil in a large skillet. Once hot, add the coated shrimp in batches and let them fry until they turn beautifully golden, about 3 to 4 minutes.

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, honey, sweetened condensed milk, and rice vinegar. Whisk it all together until smooth.

Toss those crispy shrimp in the creamy sauce, ensuring they're fully coated.

Toss in walnuts (I didn’t use any, hehe).

To serve, plate up some steaming white rice. Add your saucy Honey Walnut Shrimp on top, and don't forget to sprinkle some thinly sliced green onions for some freshness.

Enjoy!
