Grilled Green Chicken, Hariyali Chicken Tikka
YOO, this grilled green chicken is a summer SMASH ⭐️ . It’s so juicy and flavorful. I keep making and remaking it!
INGREDIENTS
1.5 lbs boneless chicken thighs
1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
1 medium white onion, quartered
3 serrano peppers
5 cloves of fresh garlic
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
2 teaspoons cumin powder
2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
2 tablespoons desi yogurt
1/4 cup oil
Juice of 1 lemon
METHOD
In a blender or food processor, combine cilantro, mint, onion, serrano peppers, garlic, ginger, cumin powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, yogurt, oil, and lemon juice.
Blend until you get a smooth green marinade.
Pour the green marinade over the chicken, making sure each piece is well coated.
Cover your bowl and marinate overnight.
Wake up well-rested and pre-heat your grill to medium-high heat when you’re ready to cook. (Cleaned and lightly oiled grates will make it easier <3)
Let the chicken come to room temp (about 15-20 min) before grilling.
Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers.
Grill until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks. Cooking time will vary based on how thicc your chicken is!
This recipe is one of my faves, I love making a large batch of this chicken over the wknd and then I eat it in a variety of different bowls throughout the week. It hits every time. I hope you’ll try it and love it, too!
